Simon talks about his animal welfare bill - which was picked up by the Government and passed into law today - and the Courts Remote Participation Bill, also passed today, which allows greater use of audio-visual links in trials. Coming up, he talks about an impending trip to the UK and Poland and a coming trip to the Shanghai Expo.

The government has tabled a solution to the leaky home problem that is worth millions of dollars and affects thousands of homes. The leaky home problem arose in the 1990s when the previous National government made changes to the Building Act and the apprentice scheme, leading to shoddy materials and designs in construction.

The Budget is scheduled for May 20 and Tauranga MP Simon Bridges says science and innovation will feature in it as a means to put money back into New Zealander's pockets.

Accompanied by his wife Natalie, Simon was wearing for the first time the medals won by his grandfather in World War One.
